Jim Laycock

Cropping Technical Agronomist

Cropping Technical Agronomist Jim Laycock spent his first 25 years in Queensland, mostly in the Lockyer Valley where he went to high school and his interest in agriculture was fired.

A contract harvester for 10 years, Jim moved to Cowra after a farm management role at Grenfell, and the completion of a Diploma in Farm Management at the University of New England.

Five years with the NSW Department of Agriculture followed, and then an eight-year stint in sales with Incitec Pivot.

 

Predominantly responsible for the broadacre markets of central NSW, Jim takes a keen interest in nutrient management for minimum till systems, and is a keen member of the West Australian No Till Farmers Association.

 

Matt Mahoney

Matt Mahoney is Incitec Pivot's Co-ordinator - Agronomy Program, and supports the technical agronomists team. Matt's prior roles:

  • Incitec Pivot's south pasture agronomist.

  • Agronomist with Cropmark Seeds

Matt completed a PhD on fertiliser placement at Latrobe University in 2005 and grew up on a farm in the Mansfield district where he still has farming interests. 

Rob Dwyer

Sugar and Northern Horticulture Tecnhical Agronomist

Rob Dwyer is Incitec Pivot's Technical Agronomist for sugar cane and horticulture in Queensland and northern New South Wales.

Based in the Burdekin, his current role builds on his experience in sales agronomy with Landmark in the Burdekin over the past eight years.

Prior to this, he spent several years with Primac in Mackay and Ayr.

A Gatton College graduate in horticultural technology (plant protection), Rob worked for Initec from 1992 to 1994, when he was based at the production laboratory at Gibson Island in Brisbane. During this time, he was involved in quality assurance and environmental monitoring associated with the manufacturing works.

 

 

Lee Menhennet

PASTURE Technical Agronomist

  • Lee was Area Sales Manager for Sunraysia & Riverland and Wimmera & Mallee Districts as well as Horticultural Agronomist for Southern Regions with Incitec Fertilisers from 1996. Later in 2000 Lee moved to Shepparton for the role of Area Sales Manager for Goulburn Valley Nth East Vic.

  • Post Incitec/Pivot merger, Lee became the regional agronomist for pasture, horticulture and cropping in Northern Vic, returning to the Area Sales Manager Role for 18 months before accepting a role in Liquid Sales Development in southern Australia.

Lee currently resides in the Goulburn Valley at Shepparton where he has farming interests including commercial property.

Charlie Walker

Technical and Development Manager

  • Graduate of the University of New England with a Bachelor of Rural Science
  • Retail experience as an Agronomist with retail outlets in Tamworth and Moree
  • Joined Incitec Fertilisers in 1996 as an area manager on the Darling Downs
  • Moved to Victoria in 1999 as Market Development Agronomist for cropping in Southern Australia
  • Took up the role of Product Innovation Manager in 2003
  • Commenced as Technical and Development Manager in 2009

Charlie is Passionate about plant nutrition and fertilisers - "fertilisers are one of the few inputs that can enhance production - most other inputs are preventative"

Roy Hildebrand

Product Development - Operations

Roy has been involved in the fertiliser industry for over 20 years, both in Australia and overseas.

Roles with Incitec Pivot have included:

  • Two years as Brisbane head office agronomist during which time he updated most of the technical material and ran numerous nutrition training courses.
  • Several years as Area Sales Manager based at Coffs Harbour in NSW
  • Horticultural Agronomist covering nutrition of all horticultural crops in Eastern Australia.
  • New Product Development focussing on a range of technologies including granulation, trace element coatings, slow release fertilisers and liquids
  • For the past 7 years Roy's focus has been driving the development and growth of the EASY Liquids portfolio (including EASY N).

Roy currently resides in Brisbane, where he will manage the Operational component of the Product Development Team
